Abused: Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger (Picture: Getty Images) |
The Frenchman, 65, was forced to make his way through a baying mob of Arsenal fans as he and the team attempted to board a train back to London on Saturday night.
As Wenger emerged onto the platform, the waiting supporters launched into an expletive-ridden assault on the Gunners’ manager, who calmly made his way onto the train via a police escort.
The disgraceful scenes come after Arsenal were humbled at the Britannia, with large sections of fans now calling for Wenger to be removed as boss.

Criticising Wenger & calling for him to go is OK. Openly abusing/threatening him is not. That video is awful & culprits should be ashamed.

It's also ridiculous that Arsenal fans are physically fighting each other. Makes us look ridiculous. Let's be better than this.

Of course, the irony is that if Arsenal players showed the same fight/passion for the club as the fans right now, we'd be winning trophies.
