The story that triggered a response from Nigerian Military...According to Alwihda - A Chadian Newspaper: (In French)
The story that triggered a response from Nigerian Military...According to Alwihda - A Chadian Newspaper: (English Translation)
Cameroon and Nigeria face military offensives launched by the Islamist sect Boko Haram, the two African armies recorded huge losses. Chad is following with particular attention the situation on the ground.
Some people wonder why Chad is not involved? If the two countries’ armies are struggling to stop the advance of the Islamic sect, it is not because they are deprived of the means (military equipment), but simply because they are the most corrupt of the continent.
Some senior officers who have relationship with the sect seem well informed of the two armies. The situation of the two armies in their countries does not encourage the involvement of the Chadian army which could mean a risk by exposing itself to danger.
What is happening in our neighboring countries is deplorable and Chad only intervenes if the sect crosses the red line. The Chadian border is a red line and the sect knows very well.
Iran has informed the Islamic State that it must be held in 40 kilometers of its borders in other words he is exposed to a tough military action. For Chad, the message is clear for Boko Haram. it must avoid touching the Chadian border otherwise the reaction of the Chadian army will be immediate and terrible.
Moments ago, Nigerian Military through its spokesman, Major Gen. Chris Olukolade, took to his twitter page to respond to the Alwihda's allegation (Alwihda is a Chadian News Outlet) in series of tweets as captured below:
