But opted for an elegant look for her night out with rapper boyfriend Meek Mill on Friday, the evening before she is due to open the MTV Video Music Awards. In a figure hugging floral dress and nude Christian Louboutin heels, the 32-year-old songstress looked every inch the lady.
With her long black hair worn straight, and a moss green shoulder bag over her arm, Nicki's electric pink lips provided a pop of colour to her outfit. Her almond nails, filed to a point, were decorated with crystals and matched her nude dress to the shade. The star was enjoying a night out in Hollywood, letting her hair down before she takes to the MTV stage on Sunday.
The Anaconda star opened last year as well but after she criticized the VMAs, getting into a Twitter spat with Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift as a result it looked like Nicki might not be getting a call back. The Starships singer has a long history with the awards having made her VMA debut in the 2010 pre-show and has performed on multiple occasions taking to the main stage in 2012 to join Alicia Keys for her track Girl on Fire and last year in a medley with Ariana Grande and Jessie J.
When VMA nominations were announced, Nicki tweeted that she would have received more nods for her Anaconda video if she were a 'different kind of artist'.
