The police in Lagos have arrested an 18-year-old lady, Kafayat Olawale, for allegedly stabbing to death her boyfriend, Ojo Ijabike, 32. The incident happened on Friday on Olutola Adebayo Street, off Idimu Road, in the Alimosho area of Lagos State.

Ijabike, an indigene of Owo, Ondo State, had attempted to forcefully have carnal knowledge of the suspect when there was a scuffle between them. Olawale, who hails from Osun State, was said to have stabbed the deceased in the heart region, while the 32-year-old victim inflicted injuries on her.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari has beat President Goodluck Jonathan by a rather comfortable margin.
Declaring the presidential election result, the returning officer – Professor James Ayatsa – who is the Vice Chancellor of Federal University Katsina, announced that General Buhari scored 885, 988 while President Goodluck Jonathan scored 143, 904 votes.
Similarly, the APC won all the three senatorial seats contested in last Saturday general election in Jigawa state.

Katsina State commissioner of Police, Alhaji Muhammad Hurdi, is dead, the Force has announced.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Aminu Sadiq made the announcement in a statement issued to journalists on Sunday, March 29.
According to the statement, Hurdi died on the eve of Nigeria’s 2015 Presidential election, March 27 after a protracted illness.
The PPRO said that Hurdi would be remembered as a patriotic and dedicated officer who gave his best in the service of his fatherland.

There was panic in Ikirun, Osun State, on Saturday as the presidential election was ongoing when supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party and the All Progressives Congress clashed.
According to an eyewitness, who is simply identified as Ismaila, he said the victim was a graduate of The Polytechnic, Ire, Osun State.
He said the victim, popularly known as ‘Hunger’, allegedly belonged to a cult group and a supporter of the PDP.

2015 POLLS: Voting Postponed In Two Delta State LGAs
Voting has been postponed in Ethiope Federal constituency comprising Ethiope East and West Local Government Areas of Delta State because of inadequate supply of voting materials.
The distribution of voting materials by the Warri office of INEC ended at 8.20am.
It was however generally peaceful in most of Delta South with few people on the streets while the police provided much of the security with military personnel only at check-points where they originally were.
Card readers worked well in most places visited but there were slight hitches in some places due to inexperience of the operators of the machines.

Commonwealth Observer Group said on Saturday [Mar. 28] that it would issue an interim statement on the Presidential and National Assembly elections on Monday. The leader of the group and former Malawian president, Dr Bakili Muluzi, said this in a statement he issued in Abuja.
Muluzi said the interim report would be followed by an extensive final report covering all aspects of the group’s observations. He said the group’s mandate was to observe and consider all aspects of the electoral process to see if the elections were credible and transparent.
