Pastor Arrested For Pulling Out Gun On Church Accountant During A Serious Disagreement Over Church Money In Benue State

The Benue State Police Command, yesterday [Jan. 30], arrested the pastor of a new generation church in Katsina-Ala (names withheld) for illegal possession of fire arms and assault on the church’s accountant.

According to Vanguard, the pastor was apprehended with the firearm by men of the Benue State Special Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, in Katsina-Ala where he allegedly tried to kill the accountant of the church, Mr. Philip Toryila, during a serious disagreement over money.

Boko Haram Agree To A Ceasefire

The dreaded Boko Haram sect has declared ceasefire after allegedly holding talks with “officials of Borno State Government and leaders of thought from the state”.

“I am announcing this ceasefire with the approval and consent of the leader Sheikh Abubakar Shekau. We, therefore, call on all our members to stop all acts of violent immediately and await further directives”, said Sheikh Abdul Aziz, who introduced himself as the second in command to Mr. Shekau.

Yakubu Yususf, a former head of the Police Pension Board has been sentenced to two years imprisonment by an Abuja High Court.

Yusuf was arraigned before the court for embezzling N 23 billion. The sentence was passed after he pleaded guilty to the charges on embezzlement. He is also to forfeit property worth N325 million. Yusuf was however given an option of N250,000 fine to avoid the jail sentence.
