Man United’s Javier Hernandez Joins Bayer Leverkusen
Javier Hernandez has completed his switch to Bayer Leverkusen.

The Mexican has agreed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga side, leaving Manchester United on a permanent basis.

The fee is expected to be around £8.5million.

West Brom striker Brown Ideye has joined Olympiakos for an undisclosed fee.

The Nigerian moved to the Hawthorns last summer for a club record £10m and bar a brief purple patch, struggled during his time in the Premier League.

The deal for Ideye was finalised in time for him to be registered for the Athens-based club’s Champions League campaign.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has commenced a full investigation into the activities of the immediate past Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
Sunday PUNCH learnt on Sunday that the commission constituted a four-member committee of crack detectives to probe all the NNPC accounts which were supervised by the former minister. It was learnt that the committee was led by a Superintendent of Police, who was seconded to the commission.

THE National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has obtained closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage of how Arik Air staff, Ikechukwu Chibuzor Oliver, who works as a catering loader smuggled three bags of cocaine among food supplies for flight W3101.

The agency also invited the younger brother of the main suspect, Chika Egwu Udensi for questioning. Mr Uwachi Amos Udensi, 32 years old was invited in connection with alleged complicity in the ongoing investigation of 20kg of cocaine seized by the United Kingdom Border Force at Heathrow Airport.

DSS Arrests Nigerian Teenager Who Spies For Boko Haram Terrorists

The Department of State Services (DSS) says it has disrupted a spying network said to have been mounted by Boko Haram terrorists at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, ChannelsTV reported.

A 14-year-old boy, Sulaiymon Abdulraman was apprehended with the help of the aviation security officials at the airport. On interrogation , Abdulraman said  he and others, recruited by the terrorist group infiltrated the airport with the assistance of Dauda Sadiq who is at large.

According to Daily Post, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed that all seven passengers on board did not survive the crash.

The shrill shout for help rented the quiet atmosphere in Ogombo village, Lekki, Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State, at the early hours of Tuesday, last week. A young man was seen by the landlord in the pool of his blood, with a kitchen knife by the side of his ribs.
The dying man, Mr. Edet Ebong, a member of staff of the Akwa Ibom State Transport Company, was reportedly rushed to a hospital within the vicinity by policemen from Ogombo Division who were alerted by the landlord identified as Baba Dada. Unfortunately, he was reportedly rejected. Thereafter, he was rushed to the Marina General Hospital where doctors battled in vain to save his life.

Since March 2010, Adebowale Ibidapo Adefuye a former history professor has been the ambassador from Nigeria to the United States, who has helped persuade the U.S. to remove this country from the government’s “country of interest” terrorism watch list.

ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE!!! Police Inspector Shoots Self Dead In Lagos
According to a report from PUNCH, a police inspector, identified simply as Medugwu, mistakenly shot himself dead, while adjusting a faulty rifle at the Mobile Police Force 20, in the Ikeja area of Lagos on Tuesday.

The inspector, who was attached to MOPOL 20, was the second-in-command to the armourer. He was said to have accidentally pulled the trigger of the rifle, which sent a bullet to his jaw.

Lagos landlord, Sola Solomon, who allegedly set his tenant ablaze in the Idumota area of the state, has died.

PUNCH Reports:
A police told PUNCH on Wednesday [Aug. 26] that the suspect died from the burns injuries he sustained while setting fire to the tenant, Abeeb Daraloye. It was reported on Tuesday that Abeeb and his landlord had a disagreement over the use of the compound toilet. Later in the day, 67-year-old Solomon reportedly poured petrol on Abeeb and ignited a fire with a lighter.

Appeal Court Upholds Gov Ambode’s Election Victory, Fines Agbaje

The Court of Appeal, Lagos division on Wednesday [Aug. 26] affirmed the verdict of the State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal which upheld the declaration of Akinwunmi Ambode as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship election in Lagos State.
The judgment aligned with the July 1, 2015 decision of the Justice Muhammed Sijaro-led tribunal which struck out the petition of Jimi Agbaje, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the election.

Saudi Arabia Executes Four People In One Day, Death Penalties Soar
Saudi Arabia announced it had carried out four executions in different cities on Wednesday morning, bringing the total number of judicial killings to 130 so far in 2015, a sharp rise on recent years.

Three executions were of Saudi nationals convicted of murder. They were executed in Asir Province, the city of Taif and al-Baha Province respectively . A Syrian man was executed in the northern province of al-Jawf for drug smuggling.

PICTURED: Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh Gets N6.5m Official Car


 The Nigeria Football Federation has purchased a Nissan Altima – 2.5 SL 2015 model – for the Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh.

The car, which the federation said was delivered at the NFF secretariat, Abuja was confirmed on Tuesday by the federation on its official twitter page.
