Four burnt to death while scooping fuel from petrol tanker
The tanker which was fully loaded with petrol had skidded off the road and emptied its content few metres from Ugwu Okpoga.
An eyewitness saidthat the ill-fated tanker was conveying petroleum product from the eastern part of the country to a service station outside Makurdi. It was learnt while trying to avoid a pothole at Okpoga, the driver lost control of the vehicle.

He said: “During that confusion that there was a spark and a combustion that claimed three lives on the spot with many others sustaining various degrees of burns”.
Vanguard gathered that three of the victims died at the accident spot while the fourth victim died at the General hospital Okpoga, where the victims were rushed to for treatment.
Our source further explained that it took the intervention of the Council Chairman, Mr. Robert Idoko, his Deputy, Sonny Ebute and the State House of Assembly member representing Okpokwu, Mr. Olofu Oguche who mobilized youths to avert what could have amounted to a major disaster in the area.

Yesterday, in a heavily guarded room at the Matiga military hospital in Tripoli, she admitted that she had executed as many as 11 suspected rebel prisoners in the days leading up to the fall of the Libyan capital last week. Shot at point-blank range, in cold blood.
‘I killed the first one, then they would bring another one up to the room,’ Nisreen said. ‘He would see the body on the floor and look shocked. Then I would shoot him too. I did it from about a metre away.’
One of thousands of girls and young women recruited by Gaddafi’s all-female militias, Nisreen is now a prisoner of the rebels and in fear of her life. Yet despite her killings, it is impossible not to feel pity for her.
Nisreen claims – and her doctors and even some of the rebel fighters believe her – that she had to shoot under great duress. She also says that she was sexually abused by senior military figures, one of whom was the commander of the elite Tripoli brigade tasked with protecting Gaddafi himself. ‘I told them [the rebels] what I did,’ she said. ‘They are angry. I do not know what will happen to me now.’

But this weekend Prince Harry was back on form and partying with the best of them. Arriving at one of Europe’s leading open-air nightclubs, the 26-year-old royal threw himself into the party spirit and, for good measure, into a swimming pool – without stopping to take off his clothes.

Laughing, he hauled himself out and danced barefoot on the side to the ear-splitting sounds of house music as fellow clubbers roared their approval. Harry was later seen at the bar wearing a borrowed white T-shirt with his damp shirt tied round his waist.
The prince had flown to Croatia for a mini-break with a group of friends on an EasyJet flight on Saturday. He is believed to be staying on a yacht near the pretty island of Hvar where on Saturday night he headed for the Veneranda nightclub.

It holds up to 1,000 guests and boasts a massive outdoor dance floor with a swimming pool, as well as a more traditional indoor club. There is also a 200-seat VIP area which Harry ignored in favour of hanging out with other partygoers outside, dancing under the stars.
Harry, who recently ended a brief romance with underwear model Florence Brudenell-Bruce to concentrate on his Army career, is training to become an Apache attack helicopter pilot in Suffolk and will transfer to Arizona in October to spend two months with U.S. ‘top guns’.
Over the past 12 months he has, say royal aides, ‘knuckled down’ to his work and has barely been seen out and about, in contrast to his teenage years of nightclubbing. His antics on Saturday night suggest he is keen to let his hair down before his Arizona trip.

It is the second holiday the prince has taken this summer. Earlier this month he spent a week in a luxury villa on the island of Majorca with his close friend, Jake, Warren, and his family.
Hvar is one of the prettiest Dalmatian islands and attracts huge crowds in the summer months. It is believed that Harry and his crowd may be staying on a yacht in the area.

Customs intercepts another deadly cargo at Lagos port

THE Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, yesterday, at the Tin-Can Island Port intercepted a 40” foot container containing arms and ammunition and arrested one Mr Niyi Osunsanya, a Customs agent contracted to clear the cargo.
Speaking to newsmen on the development, Customs Area Comptroller, CAC, of Tin Can Island Customs, Mr. Charles Edike, said the container with number TUCU contained two vehicles— a Range Rover Sports and a Chevrolet Express bus—which were brought in from the United States.
Edike said the security items found in the container were weapons that could cause damage to Nigerians, adding that with the arrest of the agent, it will not take long before the importer will be apprehended.
He said: “Yesterday evening officers examined the container and found that some items are of security concerns to us and after the search, more items were uncovered and these were ammunition, a hand gun, pellets.These things are beyond the ordinary.
“Beides the hand gun and cartridges found inside the container, other security items uncovered include several packs of tear gas, a long torch that has a camera, Naval caps, military boots, United States Army barge and other security barges as well as military belts.”
Amy Winehouse Toxicology Results Revealed: Drugs Not Found
Amy Winehouse‘s toxicology results have been revealed, and while alcohol was present in her system, no illegal substances were found, leaving her cause of death still a mystery.
A statement released by spokesman Chris Goodman, via , on behalf of singer’s family said, “toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.”
The toxicology results did show, however, that “alcohol was present” in Amy’s system, but it has yet to be determined if it played a role in her death.
Amy was found dead in her London home on July 23. She was only 27.
The five-time Grammy winner battled addictions throughout her time in the public spotlight.
Her father, Mitch Winehouse told mourners at Amy’s funeral in July that she had said to him, “‘Dad I’ve had enough of drinking, I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces anymore.’”
