GET WELL SOON! Joe Jackson, Father Of The Late King Of Pop Michael Jackson Suffers A Stroke

Yesterday [Nov. 29], Joe Jackson was hospitalized after suffering from a minor stroke, but today sources say he is doing just fine.

Joe, the father of the late and great King of Pop Michael Jackson, is recovering from the stroke at a hospital in Las Vegas and sources say "he is in good spirits”. The 83-year-old is also expected to be discharged later on today and make a full recovery.

Following the heat generated by the call of the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Lamido Sanusi on the Federal Government to sack half of its workforce, the Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chief Chukwuemeka Wogu, yesterday [Nov. 29] assured that no worker would lose his job as the government is even desirous of creating more jobs for Nigerians.

Sanusi in a paper he presented at the 2nd Annual Capital Market Committee Retreat in Warri, Delta State, had stressed the need to prune membership of the National Assembly as well as the number of states and local governments in the country, among others.

13-Year Old Girl Defends Lover Over Rape Allegation In Lagos…POLICE – She Was Raped, VICTIM – No, You're Wrong, It Was Sex As Usual

A 22-year old man, Peter Victor has been arrested by the police and charged before a magistrate’s in Lagos for allegedly raping a 13-year old girl (name withheld), PMNews reports.

He is now facing a charge of rape before the Magistrate, Mrs M B Folami.

The victim stunned the police and the court when she said she was not raped by Victor as claimed by the police. She said she allowed Victor to sleep with her thrice because she loved him and because he has been assisting her family.

The will of the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, was on Friday [Nov. 30] presented to the family with his widow, Bianca, getting the lion’s share.

The presentation by the Chief Registrar of the Enugu High Court, Mr Dennis Ekoh, was witnessed by Bianca, Mr Val Nwosu, Ojukwu’s first cousin, and Mr Mike Ejemba.

In the will, the late Ojukwu identified one Tenny Haman as one of his children.

Ojukwu listed the children as Tenny Haman, Chukwuemeka Jnr, Mmegha, Okigbo, Ebele, Chineme, Afam and Nwachukwu.

A man, Musa Yusuf, who allegedly killed his wife for refusing to submit to his sexual demand, has been remanded at the Federal Prison, Ilorin.

An Ilorin Magistrates’ Court on Thursday [Nov. 29] remanded the accused for allegedly committing the offence on Nov. 17 on a farm. The accused was arraigned on a one count charge of culpable homicide, punishable under Section 221 of the Penal Code.

INCEST: 47-Year-Old Father Jailed 7 Years For Defiling His 12-Year-Old Daughter In Benin, Edo State

A Benin Chief Magistrate’s Court has sentenced a 47-year-old father, Godwin Allu, to seven years imprisonment with hard labour for having unlawful carnal knowledge of his 12-year-old daughter.

Allu was accused of sleeping with his daughter on Nov. 20, at 19 Omono Street, off Stadium road, Benin City.

The little girl had testified that her father had unlawful carnal knowledge of her three times at different occasions. The victim, who had blood stains on her uniform, informed her headmistress at Obaseki Primary School, Benin of the incident.

Former Nigerian National Basketball Player, Chinedu Onyeuku, Shot Dead WHILE TRYING TO ROB A HOME In Texas

A former Nigerian national basketball player was shot dead in a botched burglary in Texas before Thanksgiving, it has been revealed.

Chinedu Onyeuku, 29, was trying to break into a home in Plano on November 21 and was shot and killed by the homeowner, police say. Onyeuku had played for the Nigerian team that qualified for this summer’s Olympic Games in London.

According to the Dallas News, Onyeuku and another person allegedly tried to break into a residence on Rio Grande Street in Plano, Texas the night of November 21.

The suspect, Ali Aminu, was arrested with a Ghanaian international passport number H2252580, said Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA Head of Public Affairs.

Aminu is alleged to have imported 1.3 kilogrammes of cocaine from Dubai.

The Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), Festus Odimegwu, has said any Nigerian who is not captured in the next demographic survey beginning next year would not be recognised as a citizen after the 2016 national population census.

He spoke yesterday [Nov. 29] at the second National Family Planning Conference in Abuja.

Odimegwu said the N600 billion needed to conduct the exercise would be generated by the Commission from the sale of data to the private sector, if the Federal Government fails to provide it.

Ekiti State Police Command has arrested an 85-year-old man, Samuel Oladipupo, for allegedly raping a 12-year-old JSS 1 pupil.

It was learnt the suspect had on Sunday called the victim (name withheld) and sent her on an errand but later accused the girl of stealing his phone. In the process of searching for the phone, Oladipupo was said to have grabbed the girl in his sitting room and forcibly had sex with her.

Man Arrested For Attempting To Bomb Ekiti State Govt House

A middle age man was Wednesday [Nov. 28] arrested in Ado Ekiti by the police for an attempted bid to bomb Government House, the official residence of the state governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Vanguard reports.

The alleged bomber was said to have been conveyed to the spot by a man on motorbike who was said to have escaped arrest as soon as the suspected criminal alighted in-front of the main gate of the Government’s House.

The alleged bomber who was seen making frantic bid to contact some people through telephone calls, a development that gave room for suspicion that he is having a sinister motive.

Motivational speaker and author Zig Ziglar died today [Nov. 28] in Dallas "after a short bout with pneumonia", according to his website and his Facebook page. He was 86.

The self-described Undisputed King of Motivation was known for his seminars, which grew into large gatherings held in packed arenas.

Ziglar wrote more than two dozen books on salesmanship and motivation over the past five decades. He wrote more than 30 books, including "See You at the Top" and "Over the Top”.

MARATHON SEX: Civil Defence Corps Official Dies On Top Of Girlfriend...In Calabar

Officials of the Nigerian Civil Defence Corps, Calabar, over the weekend monted a manhunt for a lady who allegedly had marathon sex with their colleague, Ofem Eta, during which he died.

According to PMNews report, Ofem came back from duty on Friday [Nov. 23] evening and without eating any food went into marathon sex with the girl and passed away during the act.

“He came back from work and told me he was hungry and I prepared food for him but when I got there, his door was shut and when I knocked he told me to take the food back and bring it later. When I took the food to him later, his door was open and when I knocked he did not answer. When I went in I saw him lying naked on his bed”, a source told PMNews.

Lagos Court Dissolves 15-Year Old Marriage Over Battery

An Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State on Wednesday [Nov. 28] dissolved the 15-year old marriage of a trader, Mrs Oluwayemisi Tijani, over battery. The 38-year old woman had filed the suit on Oct. 29 claiming that her husband, a carpenter, used to batter her in public places.

The President of the Court, Mr Emmanue Daniel, said that the court granted the prayer because it could not reconcile the differences of the couple.

800 Corps Members Posted To Kano State Redeployed To Other States Due To Security Challenges

Of the 2, 129 corps members posted to Kano State for the Batch C service year, 800 have been redeployed to other states due to security challenges, TheNATION reports.

Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso warned that no corps members posted to government establishments should be rejected.

CYNTHIA OSOKOGU: Court Orders Re-Arrest Of Released Pharmacist

A Yaba Magistrate’s Court, Lagos on Tuesday [Nov. 27] ordered the re-arrest of Orji Osita, one of the pharmacists accused in the murder of Cynthia Osokogu.

Osokogu was allegedly killed in a hotel room in FESTAC area of Lagos by her two Facebook friends on July 22, 2012.

Osita and his pharmacist colleague, Maduakor Chukwunonso alongside Okwumo Nwabufo, Olisaeloka Ezike, Nonso Ezike, Olisaeloka’s younger brother, and Chinonso Ezeaka and Gideon Okechukwu had been charged in connection with the murder.

Graham Hughes yesterday [Nov. 26] trudged into Juba, the capital of South Sudan, to end the epic four-year journey that began in his hometown of Liverpool on New Year's Day 2009. The 33-year-old has become the first person to visit all 201 countries in the world - without using a plane. He used buses, taxis, trains and his own two feet to travel 160,000 miles in exactly 1,426 days - all on a shoestring of just $100 a week.

Gabriel Aubry claims the Thanksgiving throw-down at Halle Berry’s house that ended with his arrest was a set-up.

The baby daddy of Berry’s 4-year-old daughter won an emergency restraining order against Berry’s fiancé Olivier Martinez Monday [Nov. 26] by claiming Martinez attacked him without provocation after threatening him the previous day.

He said Martinez approached him in Berry’s driveway following a Thursday morning drop-off and demanded, “We need to talk”.

 After he closed his car door to have the conversation, Martinez “jumped” at him, unleashed a barrage of punches, kicked him in the ribs and “slammed” his head on the concrete, Aubry said in a sworn statement to the court.

24-Year-Old Nursing Mother Stabs Husband To Death In Ebonyi State…She Blamed It On The Devil

Ebonyi State police command, weekend, arrested a 24-year-old nursing mother, Mrs. Edith Okoji, for allegedly stabbing her husband to death after a quarrel revolving around infidelity.

The incident which occurred last Sunday [Nov. 25] at No. 8 Eze Street, Abakaliki, generated lots of insinuations as bewildered neighbours in the area were seen discussing the matter in small groups.

Briefing newsmen on the incident, Ebonyi State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Sylvester Igbo, said the deceased, Mr. Oyenel Okoji, was an Assistant Superintendent of Immigration attached to Ebonyi State Headquarters of the agency.

Ex-Banker On Hunger Strike To Protest Non-Payment Of Gratuity Bows To Pressure, Suspends Strike…After Spirited Appeal From Gov Fashola – DAY 14

53-year-old Olubiyi Odunaro, former employee of Hallmark Bank Plc, protesting against non-payment of his terminal benefit, on Monday [Nov. 26] suspended his 14-day hunger strike.

The   suspension of the protest followed spirited appeal by a representation from the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, and officials from the Lagos office of the Public Complaints Commission.

Senior Special Assistant to Fashola on Justice Sector Reforms, Lanre Akinsola, who led a team of legal, welfare and medical officials to the tent Odunaro had turned to his home on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Lagos, promised to intervene.
