Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are divorcing. The actors are splitting after two years of marriage. They have a son together, Maceo, aged two. In their joint statement the couple said, 'It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce. We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus for what is best for our son.'
It was added, 'We wish each other nothing but happiness in life, and we hope that you respect our, and most importantly our children's privacy, as we go through this difficult period.' Halle and Olivier - both 49 - were last seen together on October 17 while at a Halloween event in Sherman Oaks with her daughter Nahla, aged seven, from her relationship with model Gabriel Aubry. Both had their wedding rings on.
The two - who met in 2010 on the set of their drama Dark Tide, which wasn't released until 2012 - seemed to be in good spirits as they strolled through a parking lot side by side.

According to TMZ, the marriage unraveled in the past week after they hit a 'breaking point.' They had been fighting over his January incident at LAX, where Olivier hit airport employee Ronaldo Owens with a car seat, pushing him to the ground. Halle and their son were also there. A $5 million lawsuit was filed in mid October against Halle and Olivier for the attack. This 'exacerbated their conflicts,' it was reported.

'The expectation on Halle's part is for a quick, non-contentious divorce,' said a source. The two wed in July 2013 in a romantic ceremony at the Chateau des Conde in Vallery, France.
