Chilling: ISIS has issued a new video warning that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as Paris |
ISIS has issued a chilling new video warning that countries taking part in air strikes against Syria would suffer the same fate as Paris and claimed they will attack Washington D.C. next. The specific threat against the US capital emerged as CIA director John Brennan warned that more atrocities will be committed against the West by the Islamist terror group.
In the film an armed fighter addresses the camera to say in Arabic: 'We say to the states that take part in the crusader campaign that, by God, you will have a day God willing, like France's and by God, as we struck France in the centre of its abode in Paris, then we swear that we will strike America at its centre in Washington. ISIS has already claimed responsibility for the coordinated terror attacks in Paris which killed at least 132 people.

The video emerged as CIA Director Brennan told the Center for Strategic and International Studies' annual Global Security Forum on Monday that he hoped the attacks were a wake-up call for security services and warned that ISIS will attempt more terror atrocities. 'I would anticipate that this is not the only operation that ISIS has in the pipeline.'

Militants threatened an attack on the US capital Washington in the video which emerged as France paused for a minute's silence to remember victims of Friday's massacre |
This comes as thousands lined the streets of Paris for a minute's silence to remember those killed in a wave of attacks which included suicide bombs at the Stade de France, a massacre at the Bataclan theatre and mass shootings at bars and restaurants across the city. The film, which appeared on a site used by ISIS to post its messages, begins with news footage of the aftermath of Friday's Paris shootings.

A message to countries involved in what it called the 'crusader campaign' was delivered by a man dressed in fatigues and a turban, and identified in subtitles as Al Ghareeb the Algerian. It was not immediately possible to verify the authenticity of the video, which purports to be the work of ISIS fighters in the Iraqi province of Salahuddine, north of Baghdad.

The video was released by a group which dubs itself 'Wilayah Kirkuk' or 'State of Kirkuk' -- a city in north Iraq which is currently under ISIS control. 'Al Ghareeb the Algerian' also warned Europe in the video that more attacks were coming.
'I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before,' he said. Apparently referring to international talks to end the Syrian war, another man identified in the video as Al Karrar the Iraqi tells French President Francois Hollande 'we have decided to negotiate with you in the trenches and not in the hotels.'
An earlier statement released by the extremist group said it masterminded the horrifying attacks on the French capital in revenge for 'insulting' the prophet Muhammad. The terror group singled out France for its involvement in the bombing campaign against ISIS territory in Iraq and Syria and said it murdered French citizens because the nation 'boasted' about its military contribution. The statement, released on Saturday morning as horror continued to mount at the slew of killings, said the bombing attack on the Stade de France was aimed specifically at French President Francois Hollande.
